Resumo Objetivos: analisar possíveis associações entre Síndrome Hipertensiva Específica da Gestação (SHEG) e características sociodemográficas, do prénatal e do parto de mães adolescentes e adultas jovens. Métodos: estudo transversal, de base hospitalar e nível regional, ocorrido em 54 municípios da Região Nordeste do Brasil, no período de 2011 e 2012, utilizando registros da Pesquisa Nacional "Nascer no Brasil". Foi estabelecido um modelo teórico conceitual com três níveis de hierarquia, tendo a SHEG como variável desfecho, sendo realizada análise multivariada, a partir das análises bivariadas e p valor, com significância <0,20, pelo teste de Wald. Resultados: do total de 2.960adolescentes e adultas jovens, 135 (4,6%) desenvolveram SHEG. Puérperas sem companheiro apresentaram chance 50% maior (OR=1,53) de apresentar esta patologia; aquelas comescolaridade inadequada para a idade, foi 90% maior (OR = 1,86) e coma presença de antecedente clínico de risco, a chance de apresentar o desfecho foi 21 vezes a chance daquelas sem este antecedente (OR=21,72). Conclusões: foram identificadas associações significantes entre SHEG e puérperas adolescentes e adultas jovens sem companheiro, com baixa escolaridade e antecedentes clínicos de risco, sinalizando a importância dos investimentos na qualidade da assistência prénatal e trabalho de parto dos grupos mais vulneráveis.

Abstract Objectives: to analyze possible associations between Specific Hypertensive Gestation Syndrome (SHGS) and sociodemographic, prenatal, and delivery characteristics of young adult and teenage mothers. Methods: a hospital-based cross-sectional study and regional level, gathered from 54 municipalities in the Northeast region of Brazil from 2011-2012, using records from the National Survey, "Born in Brazil". A theoretical conceptual model with three-level hierarchy was established, with SHGS being the outcome variable. A multivariate analysis was performed from the bivariate analysis and p-value, with a significance of < 0.2 by the Wald test. Results: of the 2,960 adolescents and young adults included in the study, 135 (4.6%) developed HSP. The mothers without a partner had 50% (OR=1.53) greater chance of presenting this pathology; while those without adequate schooling for age presented 90% higher chance (OR = 1.86) and those with a prior clinical risk factor, the chance of presenting the outcome was 21 times the chance of those without this antecedent (OR = 21.72). Conclusions: significant associations were identified between SHGS and postpartum adolescents and young adults without a partner, with low schooling and prior clinical risk, signaling the importance of investments in the quality of prenatal care and labor of the most vulnerable groups.

O objetivo do estudo foi analisar possíveis associações entre a faixa etária materna até 16 anos, com o peso e a idade gestacional do recém-nascido, assim como a ocorrência de cesaria na. Estudo transversal com dados das Declarações de Nascidos Vivos/DN obtidos através do Sistema Nacional de Nascidos Vivos/SINASC, de Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brasil, no período 2006 a 2012. Nas análises, utilizou-se regressão logística, em razão de odds (OR) e intervalo de confiança de 95 %, medindo a força de associação entre variáveis, ajustadas aos fatores de confundimento. Os Recém Nascidos de baixo peso e de peso insuficiente mostraram associação significante com a faixa etária materna (< 16 anos); e interação estatística do pré-natal inadequado e cesariana; em gestantes adolescentes com idade abaixo de 16 anos, a cesariana mostrou associação significante com estado civil solteira (OR 1,24), pré-natal inadequado (OR 1,58) e Recém Nascidos de baixo peso (OR 1,34). Os dados sugerem que múltiplos fatores podem interferir no tipo de parto e resultado gestacional de adolescentes em idade muito precoce, apontando a importância de investimentos em políticas e ações direcionadas a esse grupo, considerado de alta vulnerabilidade aos agravos gestacionais e perinatais.

The scope of the study was to analyze possible associations between maternal age under 16 years and the weight and gestational age of the newborn child, as well as the occurrence of cesarean delivery. A cross-sectional study was conducted using data of Live Birth Certificates/DN from the National System of Live Births/SINASC in Feira de Santana, State of Bahia, Brazil, in the 2006-2012 period. In the analyses, logistic regression for the odds ratio (OR) and a confidence interval of 95% was used, measuring the strength of association between variables adjusted for confounding factors. Newborns (NB), with low birth weight and underweight, revealed a significant association with maternal age (< 16 years) and statistical interaction of inadequate prenatal care and cesarean delivery. In teenage pregnancy under the age of 16 years, cesarean delivery showed a significant association with single marital status (OR 1.24), inadequate prenatal care (OR 1.58) and newborns with low weight (OR 1.34). The data suggest that multiple factors may interfere with the type of delivery and pregnancy outcome of adolescents at an early age, pointing to the importance of investment in policies and actions directed at this group considered highly vulnerable to perinatal and pregnancy complications.

Objetivo: avaliar o nível de informação sobre adolescência, puberdade e sexualidade entre os adolescentes de 10 a 14 anos das escolas municipais de Feira de Santana, Bahia, no ano de 2000. Métodos: estudo de corte transversal, com amostragem aleatória, representativa, estratificada e proporcional (400) ao total de 6.419 estudantes matriculados. Foi estudado o nível de informação por idade, sexo e série de estudo. Os dados foram coletados com questionário específico, auto-aplicável, sigiloso, pré-testado, atribuindo-se escala de valores (escore) - satisfatório, regular e insatisfatório, conforme acertos, percentuais, e proporcionais aos temas pesquisados. A inferência estatística foi calculada pelo qui-quadrado (x2), com nível de significância de 5%, e as análises bivariada e mutivariada realizadas pela razão de prevalência simples e ajustada Resultados: altas proporções do nível de informação insatisfatório sobre os temas, com destaque nas idades de dez (69,2%) e onze anos (70,6%), sexo feminino (61,7%) e quarta (82,8%) e quinta séries (61,1%). O nível de informação por sexo, ajustado à série e à idade, apontou que o sexo feminino tinha, respectivamente, 1,30 e 1,27 vezes maior chance do nível insatisfatório em relação ao masculino. A análise do nível de informação por série, ajustado à idade, mostrou que as quarta e quinta séries tinham 2,32 vezes maiores chances do nível insatisfatório, comparado às sexta e oitava séries, com diferenças significantes (p<0,05). Conclusões: alta prevalência do nível de informação insatisfatório, com associação significante nas idades de dez a onze anos nas quarta e quinta séries e no sexo feminino, indicando necessidade de ações educativas sobre saúde e sexualidade no início da adolescência, nas escolas municipais.

Objective: the objective of this research was to evaluate the level of knowledge about adolescence, pubertal development and sexuality among adolescents from 10 to 14 years old at municipal public schools in Feira de Santana-Bahia, 2000. Methods: cross-sectional study, with a randomized and proportional sample out of a population of 6,419 students in the municipal Public System. The level of knowledge was analyzed according to age, sex and educational level. Data was collected by means of a specific confidential questionnaire, which was pre-tested. A scale of values (score - satisfactory, reasonable and unsatisfactory) was established according to the percentage and proportional number of right answers regarding general and specific topics. Statistical inference was calculated by chi-square (x²) with a significance of 5% as well as the bivariate and multivariate analysis, calculating the simple and adjusted prevalence, through stratified analysis. Results: adolescents showed unsatisfactory level of information about terms, particularly those at the age of 10 (69.2%) and 11 years (70.6%), female (61.7%) and the ones in the 4th (82.8%) and 5th (61.1%) grades. The level of knowledge according to sex, adjusted by age and educational level, showed that females are 1.3 and 1.27 times more likely to present an unsatisfactory level of knowledge than males. The level of knowledge according to educational level, adjusted by age, showed that those subjects between 4th and 5th grades are 2.32 times more likely to present an unsatisfactory level of knowledge if compared to students of 6th and 8th grades, with significant differences (p 0.05). Conclusions: the high prevalence of unsatisfactory level of knowledge with significant association between 4th and 5th grades and females points to the necessity of educative actions regarding health and sexuality in the beginning of adolescence at municipal public schools.
